MCCSA PROGRAMS

Kick-Start Your Child’s Success

The Multicultural Communities Council of SA Inc. (MCCSA) is running a 3 year project to help parents and grandparents of preschool children access the information they need to help provide a successful start for their children.

The project is funded by the Federal Department of Social Services. It aims to improve the social and economic participation of vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals and families within their communities.
This education and awareness raising project will help parents and grandparents caring for preschool children and who speak the following languages Mandarin, Punjabi, Hindi, Gujarati, Arabic, Persian, Spanish, Hazaraghi, Swahili, Khmer, Japanese and Dinka.

Each year MCCSA will be delivering 4 programs during school terms with speakers addressing a range of topics of interest to carers of young children living in South Australia.

We have already successfully delivered the project to Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi and Mandarin speaking families.
Between July 2019 and June 2020 we will be delivering 4 programs of 8 sessions each for people speaking Khmer, Persian, Spanish and Japanese.

Some of the topics are
• Children’s safety
• Children’s health
• Government financial help
• Playgroups and childcare
• Introducing English
• Entering preschool and primary school
