Our project, ‘Building Employer Confidence and Inclusion in Disability’, connects diverse job seekers living with disability (those of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse [CALD] backgrounds) to local employers.

- Support for interns and employers throughout the process

Interns

You’ll get:
- To be part of a more diverse and inclusive South Australia that you helped build
- Paid work experience (15 hours per week)
- Fortnightly coaching and mentoring
- Opportunity to showcase your skills
To apply, you’ll need:
- A certificate, diploma or higher qualification
- To live in Adelaide (no remote placements are available)
- An ABN, to receive allowance payments (or an ability to get one – we can help with this)
- Availability for 15 hours of work per week
- Availability for 1 hour of coaching per fortnight
FAQs For Interns
The internship lasts 3 months. You’ll work 15 hours per week, totalling 180 hours.
Yes, we will provide training and coaching to prepare you for the internship. This includes help with your resume and interview skills.
You’ll have a mentor from the company you’re working with, who will provide job-specific guidance and support.
MCCSA will also provide 1 hour of coaching every two weeks to help you develop further skills, solve any problems, support workplace integration and address specific needs/challenges.
Also, we will be available to address issues or concerns immediately, as they arise.
Yes, you’ll receive an allowance based on Fair Work Ombudsman recommendations.
Tell us right away if you have any issues. We’re here to help and will work with you to solve problems and ensure a positive internship experience.
Yes, but please let us know as soon as possible. We’ll guide you through the process.
While it’s possible, it’s not guaranteed. Employment opportunities are solely at the discretion of the employer, and MCCSA can not influence employment decisions.

There are no direct costs to your organisation for hosting an intern.
MCCSA manages the primary financial and insurance aspects:
- We pay interns an allowance, based on Fair Work Ombudsman recommendations
- Our Public Liability Insurance covers interns during their internship
- Employers are expected to have their own Public Liability Insurance in place.
There’s no obligation to offer permanent employment. Any post-internship employment decisions are entirely at your discretion. However, the internship provides an excellent opportunity to assess potential future employees.
