What is Community Development?
Our ‘Community Development’ project is an expanded version of our previous ‘Successful Communities’ program. It aims to help community organisations formalise and strengthen their operations, now including Community Boards and Governance support.
We support a range of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) New and Emerging Communities (NEC), who often come together as a group based on:
- Country of origin
- Language
- Interests
- Religious denominations
- Cultural identities
Note: If you’re familiar with our previous Successful Communities program, you’ll find the same valuable resources here, along with our expanded services.
Our Approach
Keeping Communities at the Centre of their Success
We work with communities to understand their goals and provide pathways to reach them.
Through training, mentoring, and support, we help nurture communities and their leaders in:
- Stronger Leadership
- Building Connections and Membership
- Planning and Strategy
- Access to Opportunities
- Advocacy and Promotion
- Participation in Community Life

Volunteer Mentors
Share Your Skills
We’re looking for community mentors to support our community organisations. You could be a great mentor if you have:
- Rich and diverse life experiences
- Professional experience
- Natural leadership skills
As a mentor, you’ll share your skills and make a real difference in your community.
The way you volunteer depends on your skills, experience, and our current needs. This could be as simple as:
- Presenting at a leadership and networking night
- Running a small group workshop
- Sharing knowledge on a topic you’re passionate about
Your contribution, big or small, can have a significant impact on our communities.
