Carer Gateway
Support for Multicultural Carers
Are you caring for a family member or friend?
Carer Gateway can help you.
What is Carer Gateway?
Carer Gateway is a free program that supports carers, funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services (DSS). It’s for anyone in South Australia who cares for someone, no matter your age or visa status.
You might be a carer if you look after someone with:
- Disability
- Mental illness
- A medical condition
- Frailty due to age
- Dementia
- Drug or alcohol problems
MCCSA’s Multicultural Carer Support
Carers SA is the lead Carer Gateway provider in South Australia. MCCSA partners with Carers SA to deliver social support programs specifically for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) carers.
We help multicultural carers understand and access Carer Gateway services. Our aim is to make a positive difference in your life.
Join our monthly peer support morning tea to:
- Connect with other multicultural carers
- Learn about government and social services
- Get information on caring and self-care
We explain Carer Gateway services in your language, help you connect with Carers SA, and provide cultural support throughout the process.
