Medicare Mental Health Kids Hubs are child-friendly spaces where families can talk openly about their child’s emotions, behaviour and overall wellbeing.
Whether your child is experiencing big emotions, behavioural challenges or family stress, the team is there to listen, provide support and help you understand the next steps.
Kids Hubs provide free early intervention support, so children can get help as early as possible. This supports healthy development and long-term wellbeing.
Children aged 0–12
Children up to 12 years of age who are experiencing mental health or wellbeing concerns.

Anyone seeking support for a child in their care, including grandparents and kin.

A multidisciplinary team provides a range of supports for children and their families.
Speech pathology
Play-based therapy supporting communication, language and social skills.
Occupational therapy
Play-based sessions building emotional regulation, sensory processing and everyday life skills.
Family support
Social workers and family practitioners help parents and carers develop practical strategies to use at home.
Care coordination
Connecting families with health, education and community services, so you don’t have to repeat your story.
Interpreter services
Professional interpreters so families can access support in their preferred language.

Getting a referral
Refer your own family
Families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds can refer themselves directly using our online form. You do not need a doctor or a professional to do this for you. Our practitioners will follow up with you.
Referrals from professionals
A professional working with your child can also refer them. Referrals are accepted from:
- General practitioners
- Child and Family Health Service
- School counsellors
- Early childhood education and care services
- Allied health professionals
- Culturally and linguistically diverse support services
- Local Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations
- Other health and community professionals
