Connect · Access · Belong (CAB) is a mentoring project that enriches the lives of people with disability, their families, and carers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. We break down barriers and create pathways for full participation in community activities, including inclusive sports, arts, culture, and recreation.

Who can join?

You’re eligible if you:

  • Have a disability (including autism, intellectual, psychosocial, physical, sensory, developmental, or neurological disabilities) or mental health condition
  • Come from a culturally and linguistically diverse background
  • Want to connect with community activities

You don’t need to be an NDIS participant.

How CAB works

  1. You contact us about your goals and interests
  2. We Connect you with a potential connector
  3. You discuss your goals, aspirations, and ways to Access inclusive activities with your connector
  4. Your connector provides tools for your journey, helping you become self-sufficient and Belong
  5. You learn new skills, gain independence, and achieve your goals

Your CAB Connector

CAB connectors are supportive guides who help you Connect with your community, Access the things that interest you and Belong. Our connectors are carefully selected to match your unique interests and goals, ensuring a meaningful mentoring relationship.

Your CAB connector is:

  • Trained to provide guidance tailored to your aspirations
  • Committed to helping you engage with community activities that you’re passionate about

Whether you’re interested in sports, arts, culture, or recreation, your mentor will work alongside you to:

  • Explore and access community events and activities that excite you
  • Build your confidence in participating in these activities
  • Develop skills that enhance your enjoyment and engagement
