Multicultural Communities Council of SA Inc. (MCCSA) will be running a 3 year project from 2018/19 to 2020/21 to help mothers of preschool children access the information they need to help provide a successful start for their preschool children.
The project is financed by the Federal Government’s Department of Social Services.
This education and awareness raising project will help mothers who have arrived in Australia since 2006 who speak the following languages; Mandarin, Punjabi, Hindi, Gujarati, Arabic, Persian, Spanish, Hazaraghi, Swahili, Khmer, Japanese and Dinka. Fathers, grandparents and other carers are also welcome to attend. Children under five are welcome to attend and a playgroup will be provided with toys suitable for 0-5 year olds. We will have several people available to look after children during each session.
Each year MCCSA will be delivering a series of sessions during school terms with speakers addressing a range of topics of interest to parents of young children living in South Australia. These topics will include
· Bringing up a child speaking two languages
· Children’s health and safety
· Activities for children and socialisation
· Australian Education System (kindergarten and primary school)
Also you will learn what financial help is available.
Starting on February 2019 we will be delivering information sessions for Hindi and Arabic speaking parents. Click on links below for more info:
